Meet The Artist

Gina DeRosa Fox grew up in Tucson, Arizona where she discovered her passion for painting using watercolors during her middle school years.  She fell in love with the process of using watercolor and brushes to depict the vivid colors of the Tucson sunsets over the Sonoran Desert.  As she progressed in her painting, she began to experiment with different mediums and techniques in order to create more vivid colors and fully portray the vision she had for each unique piece.  These creations include a wide variety of mediums, including chalk, ink, crayon, sharpie, and pigments as well as the more traditional acrylics, watercolors, and oil paints.

Throughout her artistic development, one influence has always shown through:  her love of the outdoors.  The Sonoran Desert and beautiful Tucson sunsets are evidenced in her earlier works, while her later works have gravitated towards the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado.  Gina now lives and works in Colorado, where her love of the outdoors has taken her everywhere, from the hot springs in Pagosa Springs to rafting down the Royal Gorge to hiking the backcountry to snowboard down a fresh run of powder.

This love of outdoors will continue to shape and come through in her works, as she currently has multiple pieces in progress, including some featuring the blooms of the cacti in the Sonoran Desert and the nuanced hues of the evening skies.  Having multiple pieces in progress is commonplace for Gina, as she’ll often continue working on a piece for over a year to find the right balance of colors and mediums to fully represent the finished work she envisions.
